Seeds, Soil, and Success |

“An affirmation is a statement or assertion that something is already so. It is an existing seed or thought in the here and now that will grow as life unfolds. It is not intended to change what already exists but to create new, desired outcomes. Remember, all events begin with a thought. If you think you can, you can! Anything a person can conceive can be achieved. Good gardeners cultivate not only flowers but also the soil in which they grow. The thoughts you are thinking and sending out are the ‘soil’ of your life: If you constantly project thoughts of lack of ability, you will have barren soil; if you project thoughts of ability and strength, your soil will be rich. Therefore, any career in which you can imagine yourself being happy and successful can be achieved” (The Career Fitness Program, Diane Sukiennik, Prentice Hall). You can apply this principle to music, business, or education; but it certainly holds true for any endeavor - especially if we have committed our lives to doing the will of God. I have heard that 75% of speech is negative, so we need to retrain our speech habits to affirm the positive! Since words are the “horses” that pull the “wagon” of our lives, we need to choose them carefully to make our destinations sure. Can you succeed in the goal you’ve set? Sure – just envision it, speak it, and act on it. And don’t let anyone or anything talk you out of it! |
